Droid Tycoon Rebirth Carryover List: What Resets and What Stays

Droid Tycoon Rebirth Carryover List: What Resets and What Stays

A standard rebirth in Droid Tycoon zeroes your credits and keeps your roster and base. A Super Rebirth resets nearly everything, including droids, upgrade chips and Kyber Crystals, and pays out Nova Crystals plus permanent multipliers. This page lists what each reset removes, what persists, and how to compare the cost of a reset against the gain.

The carryover rules come from community documentation of the game, which changes with patches. Where two sources disagree, the article says so and tells you what to check in your own account.

TL;DR

  • A standard rebirth clears credits. A Super Rebirth clears almost all progression and requires rebirth 12 plus a Rainbow or higher Legendary droid.
  • Nova Crystals, Nova Shop upgrades and the permanent XP and credit multipliers are the payoff for a Super Rebirth. Their size depends on the rebirth level you reach before resetting.
  • Sources disagree on whether Droidex (collection) progress survives a Super Rebirth. Check your own log before you reset.
  • No official rebirth value formula is published. Compare resets with a payback calculation built from your own measured income.

Table of Contents

Standard rebirth: what carries over

The community wiki describes rebirths as the main progression system of Star Wars: Droid Tycoon. There are 35 rebirth levels, split into 6 paths. Each level asks for a credit total and for specific droids deployed in your base. A Droid checked off in your Droidex is not enough: it must be active, though it can sit in the lounge rather than a work slot. If a requirement names a Gold R9, a Diamond R9 also qualifies.

A standard rebirth zeroes your credits but leaves droids and base intact, according to games.gg. That makes it a cheap reset: you lose a number, not a roster.

In return, the wiki lists these permanent gains per rebirth:

  • Credit multipliers
  • XP multipliers
  • Offline generation per hour
  • Higher crit chance and crit amount
  • Extra credits from offline generation
  • More work slot areas
  • More lounge space
  • Nova Crystals
  • Weapons from the Weapon Rack

The wiki also keeps a per-level table with the credit cost, credit multiplier and XP multiplier for every rebirth. Use it for exact figures: multipliers change between patches, and a copy in an article goes stale. Our own Rebirth Cycles tracker lists the requirements next to your current stats so you can see the gap at a glance.

Super Rebirth: the reset list

Super Rebirth was introduced in v1.16 and works as the game's long-term reset. To use it you need rebirth 12 and a Rainbow or higher Legendary droid, then you visit the Super Rebirth area behind the cantina.

The wiki lists the following as reset:

CategoryStatus after Super Rebirth
DroidsReset, except Iconic droids (see below)
BlueprintsReset, including those from astromech missions
Regular rebirth levelReset (the counter on your hologram stays)
CreditsReset
Upgrade chipsReset
Base upgradesReset (Nova Shop upgrades are separate)
Pickaxe level and scrap station levelReset
Kyber CrystalsReset
CosmeticsReset, including the flawless paint
Droidsmith level and XP multipliersReset
Droid crafted countReset
Offline screen statsReset
Cantina Shop purchasesReset
Surge, Crafting and Luck Boost tokensReset

The same page names Nova Crystals and Nova Shop upgrades, plus the total rebirth count on your hologram, in its reset section as well. That conflicts with the rest of the page, which describes Nova Shop upgrades as persisting through all future runs. Treat that line as a documentation error until you see it confirmed in game. Your Nova balance is the one number you should screenshot before and after your first Super Rebirth.

Iconic droids

Iconic droids are not usable immediately after a reset. You can buy them back at the Loadlifter in the Super Rebirth area for 1 million credits each. Budget that cost into your first minutes of the next run, because it is a fixed outlay that does not scale with your multipliers.

What persists

The wiki says a Super Rebirth grants permanent XP and credit multipliers that stack over time, and that Nova Shop upgrades persist through all future runs. The number of Nova Crystals depends on your rebirth level at the moment of reset. The wiki's Rebirths page points to the Super Rebirth page for the full table of crystals per level.

The Droidex progress conflict

Two sources give opposite answers on collection progress. The wiki's reset list includes Droidex progress. The games.gg guide says Droidex progress and Flawless Droid bonuses carry through, giving you a head start on the next cycle.

There are two reasonable readings. The game may have changed between the two write-ups, or one source may be describing the in-game log while the other describes the bonuses attached to it. We cannot settle it from documentation alone.

A practical check before your first Super Rebirth:

  1. Record your Droidex completion count and any Flawless Droid bonuses you have active.
  2. Perform the reset.
  3. Compare the same screens afterward and note the patch version.

For the same reason, keep a record of which patch your data comes from. Our notes on the v1.25 changes and the v1.26 changes show how requirements and values move between versions.

Note on naming: "Droidex" in the game is the in-game collection log. Droidex Companion is a separate Windows app that reads your screen to track stats and plans.

Rebirth math: how to judge a reset without a published formula

No official rebirth value formula exists in the sources we found. The wiki gives a table of multipliers per level and a table of Nova Crystals per rebirth level, but it does not state an equation that links them. Anyone presenting a single formula as official is guessing.

What you can do is measure. The method below uses only your own numbers.

Step 1: measure your current income

Record credits per hour over a 10 minute window of normal play, with your usual droids deployed. Do it twice and average the results. Our stats tracking guide covers which four stats are worth recording for rebirth planning.

Step 2: price the next requirement

Take the credit requirement of the next rebirth level from the wiki table and subtract your current credits. Divide the gap by your income. The result is the time you spend before the reset.

Step 3: price the recovery

After a reset, the cost is the time needed to return to your previous income. A standard rebirth only clears credits, so recovery is short. A Super Rebirth clears the roster, so recovery includes rebuying droids, blueprints and base upgrades, plus 1 million credits per Iconic droid you want back.

Step 4: compare the multiplier gain

If the new credit multiplier raises your income by a factor, divide your recovery time by that factor to see how long the next run takes at the higher rate. The reset pays off once the saved time exceeds the recovery time.

Four-step rebirth reset payoff calculation

Worked example (hypothetical numbers)

The figures below are invented to show the arithmetic. They are not game values.

InputValue
Current income2,000,000 credits per hour
Credits to next requirement10,000,000
Time to requirement5 hours
Recovery time after reset2 hours
Income after reset (recovered)2,400,000 credits per hour

A 20% income gain (2,400,000 against 2,000,000) means the next 10,000,000 credit gap takes about 4.2 hours instead of 5. You save about 0.8 hours per cycle and spend 2 hours recovering, so this reset needs three cycles at the new rate to break even, and only if the gain holds. Run your own numbers: if the saving never exceeds the recovery, grinding at the current rank is the better move. Our rebirth versus grind check walks through that decision using your rank.

Planning a Super Rebirth around the carryover list

The reset list tells you what to spend before you reset and what to hold.

  • Spend first: Kyber Crystals, upgrade chips and credits all reset, so unspent balances are lost value. Use them on anything that raises your reset-level score or speeds up the final requirement.
  • Hold: Nova Crystals persist through resets according to the wiki's benefits section, so hold them only if a better Nova Shop purchase is coming. Use our Nova Shop planner to order purchases.
  • Reach a higher rebirth level first: crystals scale with the level at reset, so an extra rebirth before a Super Rebirth raises the payout. Our guide to Super Rebirths at rank 12 covers the trade-off.
  • Reserve 1 million credits per Iconic droid for the start of the next run if those droids matter to your income.
  • Check the Droid pool: chapter 2 changes the early Droid pool, while credit thresholds stay identical across the four chapters. The grind length is the same, but the droids you need to rebuild differ.

For a short checklist to run on the day, see the 15 minute reset plan. For ready-made layouts, see the copyable rebirth planner templates. Rewards are covered in the rebirth rewards breakdown.

Our perspective

Most failed resets we see in player notes share one cause: the player compared the reward to the requirement and ignored the recovery. A reset list is only useful when it becomes a number. That is why we build planning around measured stats instead of remembered ones.

Our perspective — overview diagram

The second lesson is documentation drift. The Droidex conflict above is a small example: two reasonable guides, two answers. We treat every carryover claim as tied to a patch version and verify it with a before-and-after record. Droidex Companion reads your screen locally, so the before and after values come from your own session and not from a forum post.

Our advice: do not reset on the strength of a list alone. Capture your state, run the payback calculation, reset once, then compare. If the result differs from the documentation, trust your capture and update your plan.

FAQ

Do credits carry over after a rebirth?

No. A standard rebirth zeroes your credits and keeps your droids and base. A Super Rebirth also resets credits, along with upgrade chips and Kyber Crystals.

Do Iconic droids survive a Super Rebirth?

They are removed, but you can buy them back at the Loadlifter in the Super Rebirth area for 1 million credits each. They are not usable until you do. Source: the Super Rebirth wiki page.

Is there an official rebirth value formula?

Not in any source we found. The wiki publishes tables of requirements, multipliers and Nova Crystals per level, so use those values with a payback calculation of your own. Re-check the tables after each patch.

What do I need before my first Super Rebirth?

You need rebirth 12 and a Rainbow or higher Legendary droid, according to the wiki. The reward grows with your rebirth level at the time of the reset, so reaching a higher level first raises the Nova Crystal payout.
